foodstand is a marketplace for homemade food. We help the bakers, cooks, growers and small farm shops in your neighbourhood reach the people who live around them — and we help you eat fresher, more interesting food while keeping your money close to home.

Why we exist

Built around real kitchens, not warehouses

The best meals most of us remember weren’t bought in a supermarket. They came from a neighbour’s kitchen, a market stall at the end of the road, a farm shop on a Sunday drive, or a friend who happens to make extraordinary cakes. That food has character, because it’s made by a person — not a production line.

The trouble is, that food is hard to find. Brilliant home bakers and growers are scattered across every town, with no easy way for people nearby to discover them. foodstand exists to fix exactly that: a single, simple place to find the homemade food being made on your own doorstep, and to order it directly from the person who made it.

We’re proudly local by design. When you search, we sort by distance, so the focaccia, fish pie or jar of honey you order really did come from just down the road.

How we think about food safety

Homemade doesn’t mean unaccountable. Makers selling food are responsible for registering with their local authority and following UK food-hygiene guidance, just like any café or market trader.

On every listing we make allergens and dietary information clear and prominent, so you can see at a glance what’s in a dish before you order. Ratings and reviews from real local customers help you choose makers you can trust, and because everything is local, you can always ask questions before you buy.

If you have a serious allergy, always confirm the details directly with the maker — they’ll know exactly how and where your food was prepared.
