Questions
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to use foodstand?
Browsing and discovering makers is completely free. You pay the maker directly for what you order — there are no marked-up prices or hidden delivery fees baked in.
Where does the food come from?
Every maker is a real local person or independent business — home bakers, batch cooks, allotment growers, beekeepers and family-run farm shops. We show you their location as a coarse outcode so you know roughly how near they are.
Is homemade food safe?
Makers are responsible for registering with their local council and following food-hygiene rules, and many display allergen information on every dish. We make allergens and dietary tags clear so you can shop with confidence.
Can I sell my own food?
Yes — if you bake, cook, grow or preserve, you can create a free maker profile, list your dishes and start taking orders from people nearby in minutes.
